Converla

Web chat widget

The web widget lets website visitors chat without leaving your site. Conversations join the unified inbox so the same team that handles WhatsApp can answer web chat.

Marketing, web, and support leads

Before you start

  • An active Converla brand workspace.
  • Ability to paste a script or snippet into your site theme, CMS, or tag manager.
  • Brand colors and preferred default language (Arabic RTL and English LTR are both supported).

How to

Open widget settings in Converla

In admin, open the web widget / chat widget settings for your brand. Copy the embed snippet provided for your workspace — do not reuse another brand’s snippet.

Add the snippet to your website

Paste the snippet before the closing body tag on pages where chat should appear, or load it via your tag manager. Publish and hard-refresh to confirm the launcher shows.

Match brand look and language

Set primary color, greeting, and default locale. For Arabic sites, enable RTL-friendly copy so the first message feels native — not machine-translated stubs.

Route chats to the unified inbox

Send a test message from an incognito window. Confirm the conversation appears in Converla with the web-channel label and that an agent can reply from the inbox.

Optional: power answers with your knowledge base

Connect knowledge documents so the widget can answer FAQs automatically, then escalate to a human when confidence is low or the visitor asks for a person.

Tips that save time

Put the widget where intent is high

Priority pages: pricing, checkout help, contact, and product detail. Avoid noisy placement on every marketing landing if it distracts from a single conversion CTA.

Keep greeting short

One clear offer (“Ask about shipping or orders”) beats a long welcome speech. Visitors skim; agents still get full context from the thread.

Examples

Where teams usually embed

Global footer script on the main storefront domain, plus the same brand widget on help subdomain if both share one Converla workspace.

Troubleshooting

The launcher does not appear on the live site.

Confirm the snippet is on the published page, not only a draft. Check ad blockers, CSP script rules, and that you embedded the correct brand’s widget code.

Visitors chat but agents never see the thread.

Verify the widget belongs to this workspace, inbox filters are not hiding web channel, and the brand is not paused. Send a new test from a private window.

Frequently asked questions

Is the widget separate from WhatsApp?

Yes as a channel, no as an inbox. Web chat and WhatsApp can both appear in the unified inbox with clear channel labels.

Which languages does the widget support?

The product ships locales including Arabic and English (and additional widget locales where already enabled). Choose the default that matches your site audience.

Can AI answer inside the widget?

Yes when you connect a knowledge base and enable AI replies. Keep human handoff available for sales and account-specific questions.
